Integrative InSight, a Camarillo-based provider of Meditation classes and private Yoga Therapy sessions is expanding to offer its innovative services to the Conejo Valley community. The business has offered its free and paid programs and services for two years at various Camarillo venues such as the Camarillo Health Care District, Camarillo Pilates, Camarillo Yoga Center and the Camarillo United Methodist Church. Meenal Kelkar, owner of Integrative InSight and Ventura County’s only Meditation Facilitator, is anticipating that her pragmatic approach to meditation will also resonate with Westlake, Agoura and Thousand Oaks residents.
“After working for 15 years in corporate finance, I know how difficult it can be to quiet an active mind and to incorporate meditation into a busy lifestyle”, said Kelkar when explaining how her approach to meditation differs from traditional approaches. A combination of heart disease and cancer amongst her immediate family members was the push she needed to find ways to better manage her own stress. “I am a Meditation Facilitator because I demystify the ‘musts’ and ‘shoulds’ about meditation. It is more important to me that you experience for yourself that this is something you can do.” Students in her weekly course at the Camarillo Health Care District find her approach to be practical, accessible and pragmatic, and have reported relief from health issues, such as anxiety, chronic pain, sleeplessness and high blood pressure. “You can meditate anytime, anywhere. One student shared that he meditated while in line at the post office!”
In addition to meditation, Integrative Insight offers private one-on-one Yoga Therapy sessions, which Kelkar describes as “experiencing your powerful body-mind connection, thereby providing you with a new, reliable source of information that empowers you in life.” Kelkar’s knowledge of meditation is actually derived from over 900 hours of training in two modalities, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and Thai Yoga Therapy. Her training on the latter was with world-renowned Thai Yoga Therapy practitioner Saul David Raye.
To introduce Yoga Therapy to Conejo Valley, on Saturday April 26 from 10am-noon, Kelkar will be offering “A Taste of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy” workshop at Westlake Village’s True Yoga. According to Ericka Bryant, owner of True Yoga, “Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy has been around for over 20 years, but is a well-kept secret because it is always done one-on-one. I am excited that Meenal, the only certified practitioner in the area, has chosen us for the first-ever group workshop of its kind in Ventura County.”
In addition to offering her program at True Yoga, Kelkar will be the featured speaker on “How to Turn Your Brain Off At Night” at the May meeting for the Westlake-based Solo Entrepreneur’s networking group, where she will teach attendees some simple relaxation techniques to alleviate insomnia. “This speaking opportunity allows me to reach out and support those who own small businesses and professional practices through my At Your Place program, where I bring my programs to you – at a time and place of your choosing.”
